I'm sure all (OK most) outboards have their good and bad points, but I really believe keeping the thing on the back of the boat is a priority!

Not the Offshore Saddle though! I believe they are Opti 225's with regular saddles.

At least half the team is aware of what they had, the XR2, EFI's etc all have beefed up "Offshore Saddles" with solid mounts and generally a bit stronger. A picture won't tell you much as it's all buried underneath everything.
