Swiss SAR

Switzerland is normally associated with Swiss Cheese, mountains , snow and skiing etc of course not necessary in that order and perhaps boating or even ribbing would never cross ones mind.

Well a lot of that goes on and now the Swiss SAR has introduced to their media only last Saturday their latest SAR rib a Parker 1000 Baltic wheelhouse / cabin rib with twin Mercury Verado 300

I am expecting to get some more photos which will show the inside of the wheelhouse and the cockpit which is fitted with a large removable towing post

Hi Tim,

The engines are still being run in. I am awaiting details on the speed from our Swiss distributor and will post the information once available. As to how much then you understand that I do not disccuss costs on an open forum

Looks good where will it be based? Do the lakes not have very strict emmission and noise controls

The Parker 1000 Baltic is operating on the lake of Zürich, and is based in the village Meilen. This new SAR rib is part of SRD Meilen (SRD = SeeRettungsDienst = lake rescue service).

So far the recorded speed is 48knots but I understand that 51.8knots has been reached (96km/h)

as for the strict emmissions then I believe Verado is Boden sea approved and also I am sure that certain restrictions do not necessary apply to emergency services like SAR, Police
