Congratulations Tim glad to hear that you finally got the 520 completed and to sea with satisfying results - glad also to hear that speed and handling have to date been satisfactory and trust you`ll enjoy many happy hours out in the Solent with her. Good luck with the prop trials (its always a bit of a black art, but I have had good reports from other 520 running 17 or 19 inch props).

All the best,
Steve

Thanks chris and steve. I am indeed chuffed to bits. I need to get out in something rough to give her a thrashing and see how she handles some bigger stuff.

It would be nice to see 40knots, but this may be a little optimistic. I'll wait and see what difference a prop change makes.

Unfortunately on recovering her, a hull to trailer interface resulted in a large gouge at the front (through to the glass )
......er, yea, sorry about that .

Anyway, after nearly 2 years of thinking/planning/building/sitting in the Kings Head, I think its been worth it. A boat that can handle more than a slight chop without a soaking takes some getting used to

Thanks! I think I've had enough of plywood, epoxy and glass fibre to last me a good few years! Tis real easy though, check back in this thread as there are details of how I did it.
