Some Pictures from the North Sea
Pictures of Stu and Rib etc in North Sea, including some random technical looking ones!
(Don't ask me to explain them, I'm just doing what I'm told and posting them, Jimbo).

So what is on the monitors on the "technical" piccies? That sturdy looking chap certainly looks the part! Blu-toothed up and everything, nautical bling on dude!

That brings up a good question. Why do we need hypalon or any other fabric for a rib? Why not foam filed poly something or other pontoons? Or just hard shelled hollowed out pontoons under air pressure? The USCG uses foam filled collar boats here in the US that are similar looking to ribs.
Everything about those photos look hardcore.

Possibly the longest wait for a reply ever
Sorry I just came along this thread when I was looking for my console/fitting thread
The rib cuddled up to the bow of the FPSO (big thing) is a 12 metre Ocean Dynamics Ribworker fully fitted to support 2 + standby Nitrox divers for 12 hours at 20 metres. Or more or less times at differing depths to 35m. When we need more gas we go back to the mothership for a refil and get craned back in when ready.
The Tech panel is the diving supervisors console and that is inside the OD's wheelhouse. The view on the monitors is the subsea CCTV output from the divers headcams. The headset is for the subsea audio comms with the divers
We do run a small ROV from the OD but mostly we use the big one on the mothership
The only problem with solid toobs is that under big impact they can crumble and thats not as easy to repair as a toob.
That little Watercraft Fast Rescue Craft (that is a definite violation of the trade descriptions act) is a bugger to drive. but it's to my knowledge worked for about 150 days for the last 5 years.
