I feel like an away team supporter sneaking into the home team stand to cause trouble but......

Attached a few pictures of some of the past LR's i've owned and the current one (last two pictures) which has actually proved incredibly reliable. In fact the last one is arguably the best 4x4 i've owned (and i've owned 7 in the last 10 years, 4 of them LR's )
This last bright red Land Rover has never let me down in 8 years of ownwrship, pulls like a freight train, works hard both on and off road on our farm, and is as comfortable inside as a modern familly saloon.

I gave up a long time ago worrying about axle articulation and departure angles as quite honestly, they dont mean feck-all....IMHO, probably 90% of LR owners will never actually need to know what those terms represent let alone be in a position to worry about them.....

70% of jag production in China, yeah right......... what a load of Bo***cks!, the majority are built in the UK.

Landies have been built in the UK, and have had a very strong following for over 50 years, so when will the imposion happen? sounds like a very long slow burning one to me!
Don't listen to mister p he is just a wind up merchant if we did a survey on here there would probably be more with land rovers than not I know I chap that runs a fleet of 1200 cars in London from minis to Ferraris and he runs a Defender

Schools shut locally, 3" of snow on the roads. Just been for a drive in the Defender with Goodrich muds & also the ML with Avon Rangers. No issues with either vehicle, they're both capable of doing the school run but if I wanted to go down a rutted track the Landy wins, if I wanted to drive to London I'd go in the Merc........

The defender and the Cat belonged to a company i used to work for, had to drain the fuel out of the cat and empty it to get it under 3.5t

The 88 was mine, towbar front and back comes in handy some times...

yeh i know none of them are ribs but with the ribs i use that wouldn't be half as interesting..

Despite having thousands of images of our RIBs and land rovers we don't seem to have any of them connected together. I have however found a few images of the Land Rover fleet collecting the SB20 fleet from Cowes last autumn.

First up is my Defender, the only true land rover of the three. Its a 1996 Land Rover 90 (technically not a Defender if your a Landy geek). She has a 2.5l and I bought her in 2005. She was rather unusually sprayed silver as back in 1996 you could not get them in silver and the then owner (BBC) wanted her in that colour for a TV series. This was my primary vehicle for about 6 years, during that time I added all sort of extras (checker plating, alloy wheels, hinged wheel carrier, standard dents and so on). Sadly she is in fact going to go up for sale soon as about two years ago I bought the Range Rover.

This is a very different beast. She is a 98 HSE 4.6l petrol. This is a very technical vehicle with loads of gadgets and as you can imagine is pretty thirsty. Ive had her 2 years so far and expect to get plenty more out of her.sadly having adjusted to the comfort levels of a range rover there is no going bavck up and poor 90 is feeling rather neglected. When its time to replace the Rangey with something newer I expect it will be a newer Rangey.

Third up is the Freelander, Like marmite you either love them or you hate them. This particular one belongs to one of the lads at work and of courses smashes the consumption i get with the Rangey.

On the back of all three land rovers are 3 SB20 keelboats, freshly purchased and on their way to sunny Southampton.

that last sb20 is a bit naughty, full trailer like the old 1720s, I predicted that would happen about 5 years ago when they first came out.

Here's a few more from the archives.

1: My first Landy. 300tdi Disco which I bought from a Vicar when I was at uni. Memorable because I found several condoms hidden in random places. Wonder what'd he'd been up to! Pictured here with the RIB International Arctic Blue during the round Britain powerboat race. That event just about finished that car off (along with Ian C2 RIBs trailer!).

2: Same Disco with my 7m Solent on the back. Can't work out which was more unreliable, the Disco or the RIB.

3: Replaced the black Disco with an even more unreliable one (RIB 9463). Photo taken at the RNLI in Poole, picking up an Atlantic 75 the day after I bought the car. Broke down on the M1 a few hours later and had to be recovered all the way home.

4: A new engine later and she was running again. Photo taken in Portsmouth with the work Solent 9m on the back. Amazing boat.

5: My current rig. TD5 Disco and 6m Searider now fitted with a pair of Yamaha 50 4-strokes. She's only broken down once in the last 12 months so I think I'm doing well!

Classic motor. We had one of the first 2 door Range Rovers at Anchor Marine at Boroughbridge in the 70's, great V8 engine & ahead of its time. I also had one of the last 2 door ones (V reg I think) & when I went for a trade had to get a four door (Y reg). 5 months old fully loaded Auto £13,250 from a dealer in the early 80's. £30 filled the tank & I got about 11 mpg. I also had hair !!
