All flat transom boats are the same going backwards.

Google propeller efficiencies, fixed bladed props aint too good at goin' backwards.

Especially since in reverse an outboard driven boat is "driving through gas" rather than through water.

Thanks for all the helpful comments about going backwards. I will in future point the sharp end in the direction I want to go.

Also sorry for hi-jacking the original thread.

Peter sold it me over the xmas break, his mate brought my 5.75m Osprey at the back end of summer, so I first saw Humper when Peter's mate came to test drive mine at Holyhead Harbour.... Its a small Osprey world ! Do you own 'Hey Joe' ?

Chris - Not sure what the console is pal, but its been lifted to allow you to stand behind it I think... seems to do the job !

Hi all, so glad Humper went to a good home and it will be good to see her around. The console was from Demon ribs in Devon heavily modified by that old genius Mike Whitham it was raised 6" and a seat grafted onto the front. The single inset seat that it comes with was cut out and a cover made which can be removed to give good access if needed. Cost a bloody arm and leg but so worth it. The control you feel in a big sea whilst stood up was tremendous.
