Finally, in the "why hasn't this been thought of before?" section is the 6.5m inboard diesel from Delta.

This very cleverly puts a diesel into a 6.5m RIB without losing loads of deck space, and without making it massively stern heavy. The trick is to mount the engine low down, underneath the console, with a shaft connecting the engine to a conventional outdrive!

I wonder if the idea will catch on?

Having an outdrive on a jackshaft is one thing, but the clever bit is applying the technology to a small RIB in this way.

Apparently they had a fuel pump problem, and resolved it by borrowing one from the engine on the Volvo stand!

Fuel pump gave out after 1.1 hrs on the water - this was sorted on the Tuesday morning!

I left the Console open on Thursday as so many people asked where the engine was ?!? It was easier to leave the console up
Once she was up and running she ran a 42knot which considering she only has a 190hp inboard diesel we're very happy with.

The Poole Pilot boat went down very well also, as did the 7.4m Military Jet boat (With the 6 Ullmans) which was feeding live onto the Ambex/Domo stand from the A-Frame mounted camera

A very economic use of space, what are the noise levels like by the console? Do the operators have to be plugged into comms sets for comunication and radio use?
