Seagull flies again!

Finally the 'gull has hit the water.....After a year and a half of stripping it to bits and rebuilding it, I think it looks really rather good! Picture of how I got it to show how much it has changed, and also a couple of pics of the state I took it down to and the snapped crankshaft which needed replacing. I am now an officially qualified mechanic and I will be doing exactly the same thing to the etec next winter...... The seagull is going to look rather nice on the back of Into the Red

First start:

Running it on an old (sinking) ent on the lake. Plan is to use the engine at the Southport 24hr in the winter!

Oh you don't want to use a seagull with a following wind - the exhaust smoke will catch you up and suffocate you!

Nice job though. Good to see he doesn't waste all his spare time on RIBnet.

Borstal looks a bit soft, mind.

Hey .. have confidence fella and if you dont have the work shop manual .. just 'use the force' it is strong with you.

Yoda said....

“Yes, a Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware of the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi-Wan's E tech.”

Good work, a Seagull is the best place to start.

If you have done one combustion engine you are ready to move onto the next, I started off with a seagull and worked my way up to a V12 Valenta 5000 BHP twin turbo Diesels rebuild. Its suprising what you can do with a bit of patiences and elbow grease.
