Gel coat

I used Crystic topcoat to spray the hull with, spraying gel-coat is a bit of a nightmare and crystic gives good results.

Ribraff

The console seems to be located to Starboard slightly, is this by design (if so why?) or is it just placed without fixing for photographic purposes?

Regards
Bob

(Reason for asking about to refix my console after an overhaul and want to place it correctly - boat and engine details on my profile.....)

Console

The console is offset on this boat, i believe most of the sea-riders are, i think it's done that way to give easy access to the bow, i have'nt seen this amount of offset on other boats but then the deckspace on these sea-riders is fairly small.

Send a message via MSN to Alex Brown
since the console is to the right on the pic, that wouldn't happen to be anything to try to counter the 'twist' on the boat caused by larger engines would it?

The hull and deck are molded this way by avon, the deck is raised slightly where the console meets.

Scott Bader He was a bloody brave pilot that bloke

The Avon Sea Rider SR 5.4 is a Search and Rescue vessell and the offsett is to allow you to get a casualty ( or Stash) onto the boat more easily and to leave a space for them to lie down while being transported to safety.

It also has the added advantage that it does compensate bloody well for the twist effect of the prop as you are leaving the water.

These boats really are my favourite Ribs,
