Worth pointing out that we were both there!

Also that the boats in question were very well set up, equipped and skippered. There were plotters, wet gear, specialist kit and carefully chosen engines in evidence. The guys made it look simple but there was a lot of work put into it!

??..Thought that's what I said!
I know from past experience that you can have truly great times with a well sorted SIB....and certainly enjoyed many Family outings over the years in my old Zodi
Story's like MR G's just reinforce (what many of us know already) That you DONT have to sell a Kidney or remortgage the Farm to enjoy quality time on the water.
As to the planning part I always find that part of the fun process too...especially with like minded Guys and Gals.

Yup..I agree Maximus.. perhaps as a comparison ...

I was a bit of a jack the lad in my younger days..and loved whisky.. I drank it by the bottle..not the glass. After one or two nips..I would be lying if I could tell this malt was a Jura Superstition or that blend was a Chivas Regal.. etc .. so instead of wasting money..I bought good old value for money... Whyte n McKays.

For me..its the same with small boats.. easier to carry to parties than gallons of beer.. has the same end result ... use them a lot .. and they all do what you require.

Im not going to write more drivell about the first half of the Scottish SIB outing.. but Kaman and myself enjoyed a couple of days on Loch Etive first.. here are some highlights.. four days Adventure and I used around 50 litres of fuel.. and around 10 tins of Guinness.. great value for money

it was a Superb SIB meeting in all.....

I got 4 small cod and a few spur dogs.
The Gurnard caught similar along with I think Gurnard and something that neither of us had seen before.
It looked like a Pollock / Ling hybrid!!???
Could have stayed and caught more Spurs but moved as they were particularly angry and determined to get their spurs into some flesh:o
