roll on the weekend

Got this baby coming through on Sunday, hope the weather is fit to go out for a look in the RIB (and that it arrives in daylight!), 306,000 tonnes according to the info I was reading so should be quite impressive if I can get up close

Looks small from that angle - should look a bit different up close!!!

Try ramming it with one of those "indestructable" boats you keep drooling over..........

When we dive up in Whitefish bay in Lake Superior (Home of the Edmund Fitzgerald...) there is a huge amount of laker traffic heading in and out of the river onto Lake Huron. Most of these ships are 700 to 900 feet long and come within 200 feet of where we dive. (Boat Tender/Significant Other has become fairly skilled at directing them around us via VHF). The size of the bow wave coming off this things must be about 15' high which gives us a pretty good ride when we're at anchor...

Darned thing didn't come in close to here, went to meet another vessel off the south coast instead due to windy conditions

I was out yesterday though and took some of the local patrol vessel HMS Dumbarton Castle which was in for its last visit before it heads north for the last time to be decommissioned and replaced by HMS Clyde. Got a couple of P22s on board which were quite smart but I think the one hanging over the side might have had an argument or two with the beach!

Managed 39.3 kt on the new un-bent prop, so still hunting for the elusive 40! time to take EVERYTHING out of the boat one day when it is nice and calm...!
