Thanks you for your kind words in respect of my Parker rib . I should mention that the engine has a lot to do with the performance so I am very pleased with the Mercruiser 1.7 TDI with Laser 21" prop and of course even more pleased after refuelling when I look at the bill with a smile. Just to think how much that would have been if I had opted for a petrol engine

as for Poland then yes it is a great place for a rib holiday. 300 miles of coastline all one long sandy beach and no tides. Checkout the Millenium issue of RI and read about Rib racing in Poland .
And by the way look at the pics again no dry suits just T-shirts & shorts like in Greece. If I go again next year then I am very keen to do a cruise to the Isle of Bornholm perhaps even circumnavigate it .

I said what I thought about your boat. It looks very nice and fast!!
About Poland ALL SOUNDS GOOD TO ME!!
Can you tell me please what are the temperatures during the summer time?? Also (very important) what is the sea temperature.
I have two 7mtrs RIBs one in the UK (will be taking delivery in Feb?march 2003 with 150 VMax Yam- Formula 2 converted) and one got it last year with a 200 VMax Yam both with standard Yam 21" SS props.
Consumption is OK at about 1.2-1.5 litrs per mile. So I don;t complain.
Speed FAST - VERY FAAAAAST!!
If family agrees we may venture it to Poland after the Greek hols for 4-5 days.
Will see how things go.

You were not thinking of going there by ways of the sea. Michael from Sark on Braveheart II tried that in 2000 but the weather was against him and only got as far as Cuxhaven. Wanted to join the off shore rib race which had its start in Dziwnow. A team from RI took part. By road a hell of a long way like going from the south coast to Oban only the ferry bit adds on to the cost
Next time when towing I will most probably try out Harwich to Cuxhaven and enjoy the cruise.
The weather is good in July and August sometimes temp go up to 30 degrees C as for the water quite warm but the morning swim b...dy cold. The people are very friendly and big ribs create quite a stare very few in private hands

Tks fr the msg.
I don't think I will go sail it there (I value my life too much for that short of thing). I most probably tow the boat on a ferry. There must be ferries from the UK to Poland.
Thanks for the info again.

checkout www.polmax.com.pl
and open "osrodek marina" and "porcik jachtowy"
you will see that it is in English so no problems here
I was staying in the wooden house by the marina
You will see the habour master / passport control building on the other side of the river and it is up them who goes out to sea and who does not. With my SSR registration document, RYA certificate, safety equipment on board, and of course passport no problems. This is a good thing cos stops those who want to go out without any safety equipment and unsafe boats ect

But if one fitted a tube around ones bath tub stuck an outboard on the back and launched it from the beach then that is OK . can't think what fool would want to do such thing anyway

Judging by all the places you are going next year I seriously doubt wether you will have enough hours in the day?!

I run my own bizs and in the summer I take 2 months off July and August.
We spend 3 weeks in Greece and then we just go around seeing other places. I think I'll manage. LOL
