We managed to get a bit of footage off our phones too, apologies for the bouncing about - think it was me on the helm...

Great video willk I really enjoyed watching that its put Black Shadow productions into a lower league a bit like Man United and Wolves so to speak

Some nice looking ribs on show and the Beast looks awesome... but them cabin ribs are the ones that do it for me

That 9.1m cabin is a hugely capable boat - very stable. They cost a fortune but there is a very nice used example on sale at the moment.

Great report as ever.I was wondering where this was, that Gallery tricked me again
The Beast sure is awesome, but for the money would defiantly go for a cabin.

I would buy the beast (no caps!) like a shot but two problems. I am guessing at 120 LPH? at full chat? Whereas mine does 30. albeit at a much slower speed. And secondly, there is no dockside petrol on Man.
However 70k is an absolute steal!!!!

The facts are as you surmise Brian. Helming at 55kts is fun but intense and requires good conditions so while it probably is around those burn figures, you'd not be doing it for too long. If you got ideal conditions you'd make Port Ellen, Islay from Cushendall in 40 minutes... Over our extended tours where we experienced all possible conditions over 500Nm we returned an average burn of around 2.5L/Nm. We experienced some fairly lousy conditions for quite some distances and also obeyed our instructions to "cut a rip" as often as possible, so I'm sure that consumption rate could be improved on. Her cruising speed is around 35kts and if someone had an iron will, they might manage to restrict her to this and save a few more drops of the Vital Essence. God help us both, we opened her up at every opportunity and laughed like maniacs as our savings drained away. She has a VERY bad effect on one's self control

For the record, I wish to state that I exhibited great self-control while at the helm of the beast.
I only opened her up full throttle anytime my conscious was not looking

But I'll say something... she is a hell of a seaboat, she is at home in rough conditions, and has no problem stretching her legs in less than ideal sea states.
Saturday in Easdale was "sporty" and without hesitation she was up and running into a head on sea safely and comfortably at 50 something knots...

Concur entirely with Brian, Whoever gets her is gonna get themselves a hell of a boat for a steal price.

Watching the beast from afar (well cosy cabin rib actually!) she sit very stable and always looks like she wants to go faster.......she seems immensely capable in all seas and her turn of pace seems effortless...

The only issue I noticed with her at the weekend was the crews non participation in the local "water of life" drinking. Maybe next year (or ardbeg????).....

In my defense, I did more than my fair share of it, having arrived on Easdale with two bochtals very securely packed in a Yellow Pelicase and only went home with a half. Most of the damage was done round Jambo's gaff. Ardbeg for sure - me favorite Drachm! (for Sundays & Special Occasions)

You obviously weren't looking hard enough. But that would be telling tales which always remain at ERR!!
