Arctic 28's

Thanks for writing this great thread - I have three Arctic 28 hulls with sponsons which I was planning to refit. Unfortunately my plans have changed so if you fancy another project or three let me know!

Then again, I don't know if I could put myself through that again!

Nice day out there today so I thought I'd do a lap of Jersey and get some miles on the clock.

3rd pic is Gorey castle with the sun setting behind it, looked pretty stunning in the flesh.

Think I was flying back from Alderney on the 10th, and I remember looking down and thinking to myself that it looked pretty calm out there. Mind you, it quite often does from 2,000 ft. Never the same when you're actually out on it!

Not much on the telly so thought I'd give you a quick update

The impression I got from last season was that the engines might benefit from being slightly lower in the water, the props were coming out a bit more easily than I expected.

As usual things arent that straightforward, I've spent the last couple of weekends taking the motors off and cutting half inch off the transom so I can get the next set of holes on the outboard saddle.

One thing that has always bugged me since the original rebuild was the aluminium angle plate that bolts to the transom and the deck. It was in a bit of a mess when I got the boat so I had it blasted and re powdercoated (pic 1). Trouble is theres so many stainless bolts and other fixings on it, doesnt take long to start corroding away again.

So I figured while the motors are off I'd knock out a new one in stainless (pic 2)

Very smart mod Martini, you've obviously got to the point where you can't stop fiddling.

I think you're right, my thoughts are constantly drifting towards Martini III with not having much else to occupy my mind!
