baiter park taps

We were down at poole end sep/beginning august-Baiter slipway taps have gone -notice says because of illegal atachment of hosepipes with risk of contamination of water supply!? Strange-I have a hosepipe attached at home and haven't polluted my drinking water yet. Even the caravan site we parked up on had fitted new taps that a hose would not go onto no matter how hard you tried because of instructions by local water authority. Strange how we have survived so long with all these hosepipes polluting the water!
