Parker Baltic Cruiser -10 mtr cabin rib.

A lot has been said on the forum about cabin ribs but this one is different. You may agree or disagree but for sure one of the best available in the 10 mtr range. A few months ago i posted some photos of the twin outboard version which we supplied to the Maritime Office of Monaco.

Now i would like to present the twin diesel stern drive version. This particular model is the first of four currently on our order book. All twin diesel stern drive. two with twin Volvo D4-300, one with twin Volvo D6-370 and one with twin QSD 4.2 350HP

The water tests were conducted on the local lake yesterday and here is a link to 9 short clips on You Tube. the last 3 clips show the craft at speed.

a few details.

The hull is our well proven 1000 Baltic. the cabin is the Askeladden Commuter 10. A superb marriage giving a quality craft with great sea keeping capabilities

the wheelhouse cabin is spacious and this you will see from some of the clips

Engines: Volvo Penta D-4 300 EVC/EC DPH

700 RPM - 5.2 knots
1400 RPM - 9.0 knots
2000 RPM - 21 knots
2500 RPM - 30 knots
3000 RPM - 36 knots
3400 RPM - 43 knots
3480 RPM - 45.5 knots

acceleration from 0- 23 seconds - 45.5 knots

total weight is 4785kg

the outside steering position is joystick control only

Andre,

Nice. Do you expect much leisure interest or is it focused on commercial / enforcement type roles? Looks like it could be great for exploring in poor weather. Has the cabin been designed with any particular creature comforts in mind or is it all bespoke?

We utilised a ready made cabin from the Askeladden Commuter 805. The first concept was to offer the craft to the leisure market but was quickly adapted for commercial use ie Norwegian Police Force, Maritime Office of Monaco.

This particular craft is fitted with the so called " reversing camera" and the viewing of aft can be seen on the Simrad Multi Function Display. Perhaps one of the very first cabin ribs to have this feature. You can see this on one of the video clips.

Also the outside steering position which is our "trade mark" for the Pilothouse and Weekend range of boats is now only joy stick control as there is no steering wheel.
There is also a joystick at the helmsman's position in the wheelhouse.

I think Integrity had a rear facing camera (and an engine bay one).

Does joystick make close quarters stuff much simpler? Can you see the joystick being used at speed? Seems odd, but I suppose it's just a computer game then!

A quick Google shows she looks fine in white gel too - definite Scandinavian influence in design.

Akeladden is a Norwegian company only all their boats for about 10 years now have been made in Poland in the same factory as our ribs and hard boats and now Windy and Draco. This particular cabin is a Norwegian design not just influence . Their cabin and our hull is a perfect match .

Seems kinda familiar Andre....

Glass hull, tubes round the outside, engine on the back, yea we've seen it all before

Dont quiet get your point?
Unless your going out on a limb the way a boat is laid out is limited to a few options, those options will be similar on many boats, as they work.

For instance sliding windows have been used for much longer than 12 years and i'm sure whatever application you are referring too was not the first time that it was used?

I suspect the engine lid will be as big as the hole for the engine? You cant really have it any smaller can you?

As to having a steering wheel, OK it may be old school but mind control is not all that stable a method of controling the direction of a boat yet.
