Par to Falmouth ...to Fowey
Last minute decision this morning as the weather looked good. Thought we'd take a trip to Falmouth.
Lovely trip down to Falmouth - blue sky all the way - but Falmouth was buried beneath a vast black rain cloud so we turned round and headed for Fowey, dodging the showers all the way.

Was anyone else out in Falmouth today? (Alex or Roy)

No we were not out this weekend - My engine service is booked for this Thursday coming so I couldn't use the boat anyway.

Even if I did have a usable boat I couldn't of got out though - just spent the whole weekend sorting this mess out. My wife had a bit of an accident. Aqua-planed her car off the road and into a cabbage field and rolled it.

She luckily escaped without injury.

Glad to hear she's ok.

Is that the road from St Columb Road to Newquay? I used to travel it regularly, it's a real bitch of a road.

Lucky escape - how did she manage that one - looks like a straight bit of road!!! Bet they were fairly wide tyres for the type of car.

My girlfriend couldn't work out why her new Seat was great in the dry but all over the place in puddles - didn't realise fat tyres can be a pain in certain conditions.

At the time of the accident there was 6 inches of water there and she just lost the tail end aqua-planing the back dropped over the hedge which tripped up the car and over she went. I dont think the wheels/tyres are particularly wide - the car is a base model Hyundai Gets - no fancy alloy wheels or anything.

Any way - sorry for hijacking your thread - ill be back on the water next weekend if your about. Was it very cold out there.

My dad is in Florida at the moment and hes bought a new wake board and is talking about getting a dry suit.

So it looks like I may have been a bit premature when I said it was the end of the wake boarding season

No not cold at all, but we did have our (expensive) Trago Mills Floatation suits on.
