Nice Day for a Bay Cruise

Took the opportunity to get out today in a window in the worst rainy season for 50 years here in San Diego!
Stayed in the Bay as there was a bit of a chop in the ocean (I know wimp!! )
but nice chance to check out the sites.
1) Carrier Midway-The thing looks huge! Now do I have to give way??
2) Nice special Forces Zodiac moored up.
3) Coast Guard SAFE boat. They are changing over to these and had 4 more on the ramp ready to go.
4) Couldn't resist a famous landmark. The Hotel Del Coranado. Was used in several films including I think :some like it hot" with Marilyn Monroe and also the "Stuntman" with Peter O'toole where they fly WW1 bi planes around the tower shooting at them. So old it was originaly the fist hotel over here with electricity and actually wired up by Edison himself.
cheers Dal

Great photos as always, but stop it! We are doing our best to get back to San Diego, so hang in there! I also read somewhere The Hotel Coronado was where Edward 8th met Wallis Simpson, and thus changed the course of British royallty...and look where that got us! The rate we're going charles and Camilla will be marrying in a "drive thru..I do" chapel in Vegas! See you in Tahoe...not?!!

SnowRibbing

What are you doing going to Tahoe!!! Can't take the Ribcraft there!
Although would be impressive on the slopes cruising through the fresh powder at the helm of Marlin Munroe. Teach those damn snowboarders to get out of the way!
Could start a new trend in winter sports!
(Hell of a pull back up the hill though !!)

Have a good time,
cheers Dal

Mmmmmm...now there's a thought!

I take it you're not doing the 1000 miles round trip to see us then! and don't say you can't afford the petrol...at about ..what...$2 a gallon.. you don't know you're born!!

Hope the San Diego downpours hold off for more trips out on the RIB!
