Hard to say yet as still working engine up. We have three hours on the clock and can now put her on the plane for five minutes at a time- appears to pull well and accelerate well

Nice looking boat. The console looks good, unlike many.

As yer wan says, nice looking boat. Did the MCA give any grief about the low freeboard at the transom?

Surveyor and I had a discussion and I am OK but may speak with Biff about options as he may have an option available, made me realise how good the wash wells are on the Ribeyes, as I said one of the worst areas was size of anchors and this craft has a retricted anchor locker which did surprise me that it was almost impossible to carry large anchors, but the Holt folding is superb(expensive!!) and will put also the folding grapnell as reserve.

Cracking looking RIB. Good engine too. Had one on a Ribeye a few years ago and it performed well.

Hope all goes well.

Ribtec 585/YamF100. Identical hull/engine combo to mine. Nice!

Would be interested to hear from you where you end up performance wise and propeller size please.

I was out running engine in today and seeing harbour authorites, we ran her up this time to throttle at 35knots for a few yards but having to run her in at alternative revs for short stints now we are after the first section. Forgot to look at prop size on Yam 100 and order notice shows aluminium prop and website shows 19inch.

As for fuel it is marvellous but I am used to 250s

I have found it very easy to accelerate to plane and and is a good handler with plenty of bow rocker keepin bow well clear of waves and chop.

With the set up we are having to do things properly as the heavier boat is easier in waves so having to do the right helming over waves. Has more weight to the stern with liferaft so appears to drop quickly of waves. But is you follow the RYA book on helming in waves and remember to do that iit is superb. The larger RIBS have more weight on the bows.

I have a couple more changes to make, one is to throw the present radar reflector and replace with a Tri Lens and also altering the lifering supports

Nice looking piece of Kit. Where did you get the engine cover from?

Engine cover by OCA, These people http://www.outboardcovers.co.uk/, for use whilst running and offers all round extra protection

Cracking boat Ian.

She ran up onto the plane a lot easier and sat a lot nicer on monday with just 3 of us on board so definately worth considering running with out the liferaft at the back to keep the stern out the water when not doing charter work etc or look at fitting tabs as we discussed.

Remembered why i like ribtec hulls again as it cut beautifully through chop with out slamming making or it hard work. Made me realise how uncomfortable some boats of similar size are despite their reputation suggesting otherwise.

Top choice.

Happy Ribbing

Graham

Cheers Graham. I spent a bit of time yesterday changing a few bits about and also putting a neutral line on the throttle base. I have talked with Steve to lift the raft off in a few weeks whilst it is on training but have not got it done for this weekend. I agree about the weight for training and free up space. Also we had a lot of water in the hull space (as you thought) so have closed the inner plug now and Biff is looking to add height to the tramsom. All this to make it easier for everyone and of course to keep your feet dry.
