Boat looks so much better with the tubes back on! Looks like you should be out pretty soon.

The clock is ticking away

I don't know why I set these unrealistic deadlines, today is Wednesday and I was supposed to have three dash panels but received only one, the powdercoater I am useing swears he will have the other two ready by midday tomorrow, he better! Just a couple of pics today a shot of the main console on Tuesday and another of it tonight, so there has been progress. I am wondering if I can get it done THIS weekend, I guess last weekend was a little unrealistic. Oh, took a shot of the bilge without the catwalk, I will be getting that powdercoated too, it should look pretty good. Later, Pathalla

Launching Today ?

Hey Pathalla, I saw on another thread that you might be launching War Machine this morning. Good luck and don't forget the camera. It’s a beautiful morning here in Chicago, perfect boating weather. Hope all goes well.

An empty driveway Monday night...

This picture tells volumes, after spending half the day Saturday putting in sidewalks at the homestead (4 yards concrete) myself and a drowsy apprentice set out for Catawba Island at 4:30 pm. Pics of the Dad and (eager would be an understatement) new crew who has NEVER been on War Machine, this could prove interesting... Finally arrived at Anchors Away marina on Catawba and I just had to kick back with some food and a couple of cold drinks. Pics of Ray, Carol (British Lass) and Rachel, my daughter. Well we did not get out til Sunday due to me having to doublecheck everything and still we had problems... One engine started but did not want to stay running, turned out one of my two year old batteries is shot.. went out to the beach initially and then came back in on one motor. Replaced the battery and took her back out for about a Twenty mile run on the lake including a stop at West Bay Inn on Kellys Island to watch the sunset.. Came back about twenty minutes before dark and
I sat Rachel up on my lap, Belted her in and proceeded to let her pilot the boat under my immediate supervision. I am proud to say my Nine year old daughter was up to the task and did very well on cruise and in the channel (no wake) operating a Five hundred horsepower 31 ft. inflatable (very little imput from Dad) like it was child's play... which is exactly what it was! She has not stopped talking about that ride for the last two days!! All the hours of sweat and labor I have put into this boat was fair trade for the expression on my little girl's face Sunday, I have done well!

Hi! Pathalla! Your boat is very beautiful! And I'm inspired your boat for doing my boat. And I have some questions for you. I wonder What the stuff do you make use of for console and railing? Stainless steel or ferrous metal?

Cod, there will be more photos after Saturday, I promise. Just getting it in and fulfilling the boat ride obligation (I had promised my daughter) kept me from even thinking about pics last weekend. I will be posting lots of pictures of boats, people and places on a new thread I will be starting shortly.

Nicely done Pat... and glad to hear that you're afloat at last. I won't point out that you have missed some perfect weather this spring!

Regarding your daughter, I reminded my youngest recently (now 17) that he is the ONLY person who was ever taken my boat out without me in it. He began "driving" boats when he was just a few months old, and always had a talent for holding a course. Before he could see over the console, he used to steer by compass course alone!

Cruisin to Kelly's island

Took the boat and my eager trainee to Kelly's island for a bike ride and some snake hunting, my kid likes em! First pic is of the boat and the van at Anchors Away marina in the parking lot. Second is of the channel leading out on the Lake and third Rachel running the boat, she is learning fast! Pic of my buddy Ray on his Wellcraft with his kids, and a shot of the south shore of Kelly's looking west/southwest out over the Lake.

More pics of a lazy summer afternoon on the Great Lakes...

Pics of waterfront downtown on Kelly's, War Machine at the dock, my friend John's 45 Magnum and Dave's 36 ft Bayliner Boxer's toy. A friend of mine owns a nice little marina on Kellys so I usually end up over there at Unique Marker.
I spend a lot of time on glass boats as well as ribs so I will be posting some of these from time to time as well....

Pathalla! Hi! I'm very glad to see you again! and your War Machine and so.. May I ask you? What kind of welding do you take use of for extension bracket? At present I'm interested in welding process and wanna apply it to my boat! Do you take TIG welding? I think I could work on steel better then plastic.
