To call it a Searider would be akin to fitting a 2 litre pinto to a Mk2 Escort 1.3L and calling it an RS2000
No problem only going by the stuff Avon have sent me.

It's certainly a hybrid, in the sense that it has a D5.60 hull and deck with Searider spec tubes, so that's probably why they gave it that title.

Did Avon send you a brochure on the D5.60? I think I may have one somewhere at home. If I can find it, I'll run it through the scanner and post it on here.

Nice looking RIB, by the way.

The brochure I have is probably the same as (or similar to) yours. The D5.60s had orange toobs with large matt black wear patches on the tops. They were available as an open boat, or fitted with a 2-man jockey console with a curved front. As the boat has a flat plywood deck (and no flooding hull), they could be fitted with a choice of aftermarket consoles and seats. I would imagine that S*****a City Council wanted a commercial (Searider type) spec, sub 6m boat, but with side by side seating, so, as the SR5.4 couldn't fit the bill, Avon made a D5.60 to fit the Council's requirements.

The D5.60 has a shallower (& warped) vee, more upswept bow, beamier shape. More modern all round, I suppose, than a 5.4 Searider.

AFAIK, it's the same hull profile as the Adventure 560, but there may have been some tweaking during the transition. Avon dropped it into their leisure line-up, presumably due to it being less capable in offshore conditions than the SR5.4
