so i have finished my new rib build.

a coastline 7 metre with cummins qsd 150 hp stern drive. lovely boat, drives well and i am very excited by it. just doing the engine break in now and finishing of all the little things......

full spec to follow, but i think its pretty high.

in all honesty i did spend alot of time think and toying with ideas and working out what i wanted and what ideas i was taking from my old boat and looking at others.

only thing i am not happy with is the top moulding of the console, it is bad, so thinking of replacing with a new one.

will post more pics as i scale them down...

i am liking the cummins engine alot.

i am still breaking it in so not going full revs, but i am getting 27 / 28 knots cruising speed using 17 liters an hour. thats 900 rpm off full

that is an un-calibrated fuel reading as i have to run the tank down to see if it reading correct, but seems a good figure.

so i have way too many pictures to post them all, so i will post some,

if anyone wants to see anything specific please ask and i will post a pic if i have it.

the spec is as follows:

7 metre coastline hull with full width engine box, white gel coat, grey tubes with black wear patches and everything fitted with grey sika!!

double width console with seat on front, storage under for 2 110 ah batterys with blue sea system split charge relay and still plenty of dry storage left.

under deck 140 lt stainless fuel tank.

4 single jockey pods, all with dry storage underneath accessed by hinged double seal hatch in the side of each unit, each pod has a stainless backrest with custom composite wrap around back rest with hand hold on the stainless rail

removable bench seat at the rear which bolts down to some custom fittings that i fitted to he deck before it was bonded to the hull.

full width engine box with hinged lid on gas struts with lockable catched. fuel filter and water strainer in engine box, dry storage mesh bags either side in engine box for tools and engine spares.

custom made bathing platform fitted to transom, finshed in grey, with teak decking on it.

electrics wise: deck recess pump with float switch and the same in the engine bay, nav lights on saide od console with removable rear all round white, lowrance vhf unit, lcx113 plotter / sonar interfaced to 2 lowrance lmf 200 displays for speed and depth (nema2000 conected) thru hull paddlewheel and depth transder in hull.

i think thats about it, but i am sure i have forgotten something....

ok engine install pics:

the steering power seering pump was removed as well as the air filter and housing, exhaust elbow, and some other little bits on the stb side of the engine, the engine was dropped in with the front facing to port and then the back lifted and the whole engine rotated and dropped in..... easy!!!!!!

a snug fit, but not the tightest i have ever seen.
