re KR7 boat not aRIB but a speed boat with tubes on

hi
the boat above the KR7 is in my opinionis is a speed boat with tubes on not a RIB
as a true rib has a rased front end
look at the delta RIBs
tornado humber avon just to name a few all have front bows rased
a RIB is know for its rough sea keeping this boat would not go over rough waves but through them

who makes this KR7???? bet its a speed boat maker trying to go into the RIB market

just a comment
stephen

Avon sr 5.4 doesn't have high sheer bow but is one of the most reputable ribs of all time! Certainly more seaworthy than an adventure which has a poor reputation on here for quality/seakeeping, perhaps not a "true" rib either??!! People in glass houses. Just a comment! (no offence meant, just an observation as "true" rib is arbitrary. It is a rigid inflatable hull. Therefore a rib.

re rib

have owned a avon 5.4 and find the avon 6.20 rib better for diving in rough seas must be the length
its just a personal view
can you back up your statement that ""Certainly more seaworthy than an adventure which has a poor reputation on here for quality/seakeeping, perhaps not a "true" rib either ""
i have not seen any bad info re the avon adventure range on this web site???

haveing had a rib for over 30 years now i still feel a high nose is beter in rough seas
it was just a comment

thanks
stephen

Totally agree, a high sheer Bow is better in the rough. Our humber ocean pro takes it quite far and is excellent for it. Our old sr suffered at displacement speed due to the low sheer too.

Re the adventure I've never been in one but search the site and there are a good few threads where many people lambast them. Here's one long one for starters.

http://www.rib.net/forum/f8/avon-580...ter-38527.html

Though others do defend too!

A rib for one person does not automatic fit another one. If you want to go in 4 meters waves in 15-20 knots, or if you want the stability a well designed ribboat can give in 50+ knots in 0,5-1 meter waves or even more. I prefer this style especially with the hard nose in high speed.

A clue is technohull, renegede, atlantis, clyde and ppg marine.
