At wide open throttle 2x200HP will be using at most 180 ish L of fuel per hour. But I am assuming that boat would be good for 40 knots with that power. Portsmouth to cowes is what 10 Nm ish? So the return trip at WOT (the least efficient speed) would be half an hour - so probably used less than 100 L...

Arctic 28 diesel RIB!!!!

My finished project converting an Arctic 28 into diesel stern drive jackshaft installation. 330hp Volvo D6 diesel with DPH sterndrive, G7 prop with top speed of 38knots, 340ltrs of fuel and an average fuel consumption of 30ltrs a hour cruising 24knots at 2500revs. Lots of work, but lots of satisfaction!!!

almost military , dutch fishery inspection

these are 2 x parker 790 Baltics, in the pictures u can see a load test for the single lifting point and the boats at work .....

Another Artic 28

This started off as abit of a wreck but nearly finnished and getting some use out of it now!

not the fastest boat but very comfortable and economical to run, didn't cost much to build but a lot of work

My Arctic 22 after new Henshaw tubes and a new twin 150 Etec set up, good for 49 Kts depending on the props fitted and carries 8 divers with full kit no problem.

Cheers guys, she is a very different boat to when i bought her.

She uses between 8 - 12 gallons per hour depending on the load, cruising at 35 kts she uses about 8 gallons/hour. Thats considerably better than when i had the old 115 Fichts. Seems to be fairly frugal on oil as well.

1G = 4.55l

8G = 36.4l

so at 35kts thats 1.04l/mile.

Thats really good for twin 150's

Depends on what props are on, with 21" props at 35 kts the engines are running at well under 4000 rpm which is very economical. The old 115s would be running at nearer 5000 rpm to get the same speed.
