Nice boat - looks a little like an Avon - what do you think of the engine - the TLDI is supposed to be very good - as fuel efficient as a 4 stroke???

Lovely part of the world for boating - ideal RIB waters!!!

TLDI praise

Thanks, I've got nothing but praise for this engine so far apart from the noise level compared to a 4 stroke. Always starts at once, doesn't smoke or sputter, doesn't drink much.
I don't know what kind of unit you guys are using in the UK for the gas consumption, it's about 8 liters an hour between 20 and 26 knots on average, including quiter periods when approaching or leaving shore and a few runs to 39 knots (end of break-in). From what I heard, it may be even more fuel-efficient than some 4 strokers. On the other hand, didn't have too many passengers on board, 1 to 3 plus skipper.
Wouldn't say the same about Tohatsu propellers though, weird ... Running 5700 rpm with a 13x19" Yam prop instead of 5200 with a Tohatsu 13.75x17 prop.

Rendova 380 - Hybrid RIB

Here is our 2001 Rendova RIB we recently purchased. It has a 40 HP Yamaha 4-stroke. It has a bilge pump and fuel/water seperator. We are still sorting out the electrics but it has a fish finder(sonar), GPS and mobile VHF. We have only been out for a sea trial so far. I have been changing the oil and replacing everything that needed updating because this boat had only 47 hours on it and the oil was never changed, IMHO. We don't know the top speed or GPH yet. This is our 3rd inflatable since last fall when we got hooked. Hope this is our last one for awhile.

This is a hybrid because the boat weighs over 750 lbs. and can float without the tubes. The tubes are essentially acting as water spray deflectors most of the time. Here is a link to more pix of our boat www.alfelker.com and clik on the name "Rendova".

That will depend on whether you've really got the bug or not

Hey guys.

Thursday we went to Bournemouth to see a Revenger 27 foot. Friday we came back to holland with it.
Yesterday we made a trail with it and I just wanted to remind you all where bautifull ribs are made.
See the pictures!

Sake.
