Fabulous boat, I agree.

Isn't it a bit tricky getting it back on the trailer at the end of the day.

Great little ship - what engine is that???

As to cruising the world personally I find Europe too regulated and dare I say it BORING!!! I have been in many 3rd world countries and their sheer backwardness is part of the charm!

Curious

Never tried to trailer 120 tons. Think it would be a nightmare to begin with.
How many axes would this trailer need then ? And then , i don't think the car wil manage it. Will need a scania 540 or something like that. Maybe even two of them.
Once a year in the dock, guys.

Dan.

Yes. I do agree on this.
It's too far for me now. But I would like too sail the carribian some day.
Then for more then a few weeks. Like a few years will be much more interesting.

First i will have to visit the ribbex in june. Even when the weather is fine, it will be an enormous trip for us.

Dan.

Forgat.

It's a dutch build Stork Ricardo from 1954. 6 cilinders in line /48 liter cilinders dieselengine. 630 rpm top/200 rpm slow. With open heads. Has 235 liter of oil in the cranckcase. You can disconnect a cilinder in 3 minutes in case of malfunction and eventualy it can still run on three cilinders. We can take 10.5 tonnes of fuel and thats enough for 3000 mile range. Sinds she is build, not one cilinder gave any problems.Checked the log. Thats 50 years of good maintainance. Who wants two engines now?
Still running perfect.
It's an nice sound to hear them running.

Slow revving diesels just go on forever - single screw is often the best - the prop is much better protected by the keel.

What is the length overall of your ship - also it's beam and draft?

Are you planning on coming by RIB or with the 'big mama' ship? Hope to see you there!
