I am going yes.

The sail is doable but you are relying on a couple of good days of weather to go round the mull......dodgy.

Can you not trailer it up? Oban is quite handy from you.

Cheers

I have a nice trailer for it, but my Audi A6 will not tow it. Might look into renting a 4x4 though...worth a thought.

If you fancy it we are heading to Ireland in 4 weeks all going well, probably launching Loch Ryan.
Guys that's a nasty piece of water you aim to cross. Its my home ground just down the road from Girvan. What exactly is your passage plan as there maybe better launching points than Loch Ryan

We are atill looking at logistics but loch ryan because it is sheltered for launch and recovery.

Obviously this is completely weather depandant.

It is the same argument anywhere though. It is all about planning and being sensible on the weather like any jaunt out.

I take your point. I've done the 160mile run from Dublin to Dumbarton and the worst parts were by far, the last half mile into Port Patrick and, would you believe, the final stage from Gourock to Dumbarton.

Would certainly be shorter from Port Logan but we've got some reservations about launch, recovery and safe storage for the trailers there, and it's still not going to get round the local overfalls around that coast.

However......open to suggestions.
