Just spoken to Jim and Peggy who live next door fortunately the original 16th. Century farm house part was saved and they are back open for business, but no kitchen yet.

Your right RW. US dollar ain't worth the paper it is printed on in the UK as I found out and ended up with a slimmer wallet. Great to hear that that there are two good ramps on the old Itch.

Don't feel too bad; The Golden Gate Bridge had the same plans. Toll was $2 for incoming (to SF) traffic when the construction costs were paid off. There was a lot of discussion about maintenance and such; they decided to raise the toll to $3. A couple of years later, they changed it to $5 on Fridays and weekends. Recently, I believe, it was changed to $5 full-time. Pretty pricey for something that was supposed to be free.
