Isle of Wight Festival

Well, I finally got around to uploading my photos!

Had a great day - launched Greyhound at Camber slip with Rich (laser), and then met up with Old Spice and crew (Pete7, Viv, Andrew and Susie) by Haslar Marina.

Departing Portsmouth Harbour, we waved to Nick (Biggles), and an extremely pleasant blast across to the Medina followed, absolutely beautiful weather, sunny, with the solent reflecting in that clear blue you only ever see in brochure photos! It was nice and flat, and Rich and I enjoyed finding wake to jump Greyhound over.

We then slowly pootled up the Medina, and rafted up on an anchored Old Spice just off the festival stage. Playing "guess the band", I do know that we heard the Kooks and Embrace, not sure about others!

We were joined by Nick in Rosie Rib, who rafted the other side of Old Spice.

I re-routed my throttle cables, Susie attracted the largest gathering of swans seen in the solent (!), and general relaxing in the sunshine ensued.

As the depth was steadily falling, we were getting concerned about getting back out, and almost simultanous with the arrival of Brian and crew in Caprisante, we upped anchor and left (No, it wasn't anything you said!).

We then blasted to Osborne bay, again rafted on Old Spice, and all members of the party bar myself (I had work to go to you see!) took a "refreshing" dip.

Nick then left us, promising faithfully to return!

Andrew then tried to catch some fish, while Susie tried to spear Greyhound with a fishing rod and unfortunately it was time for me to head to work.

The crew of Old Spice stayed out in the Solent for what was I gather an unsuccesful attempt to catch mackeral for the BBQ!

All in all, a great day, really cool peeps, was nice to meet Nick, Andrew and Susie, and if we get just one more day I can spend on the boat with the weather, company, and entertainment as good as Sunday, I'll be happy!

Full photo gallery can be found at http://www.james-davies.co.uk/e107_plugins/kig_menu/, thought I'd upload a choice few here though...:

You heard embrace?! Jeez, I was standing right in front of the main stage and I didn't hear them! Perhaps I fell asleep or something

The line up for saturday was (in order):

Kooks
Dirty pretty things
Editors
Primal Scream
Foo Fighters (amazing...one of the ebst live acts I've ever seen!)

Must have been pretty cool hearing all the music lounging on the water! Coldplay were very impressive on the sunday, that must have looked good!

Ummm. I'll have a tweak see if I can increase the flood limit somewhere!

edit: I've turned flood protection and auto ban off, so you should be able to view images to your hearts content!
