Very nice, I'd love a project Huntsman or similar.

As an aside, were Fairey Marine and Fairey Aviation the same company?

My Mother was PA to the MD of Fairey Aviation in the early 60's, and I remember some old leaflets etc in a cupboard at home when I was a kid that showed various wierd planes and also some shots of boats.

Nasher.

Basically, yes Nasher. Fairey Marine was created from Fairey Aviation in the late 40's as the demand for planes decreased for obvious reasons.

Don't forget Fairey winches which no self respecting LR owner would be seen without in the 70's.

Lucky chap. We had a 2 berth daft looking ply affair that looked as if 3 boxes had been stuck together. It had a late 70's Johnson 50 on it. We had loads of fun.

Thanks Mollers, that's interesting.

I spoke my Mother earlier today and mentioned this.
As your link showed she corrected me in that she worked there in the late 50's not the early 60's.
Apparently her boss had a metal plate in his head from a war wound and if he upset her she'd slam the door on her way out of his office which would give him a headache

Nasher.

Hey Biff

Your first image reminded me that I ordered my copy of the round Britain 2008 book before X-mas, and it's not arrived yet.

Good looking Boats, and I'd expect very rewarding to work on.

He experienced a rather unfortunate incident with the "fan", as it happens... one of his fitters walked into it .

You care to be less cryptic perhaps?
