In the land of the camel!

Small selection of the boats I saw on the Nile in early February.
I guess I need to send a little thankyou to my good lady wife as I took more photos of the boats than anything else!

First lot are just a few of the hundreds of faluka's that sail the river daily.

Look at the polution on this river.
You don't get a true measure of it until you fly over and see the fuel flowing downstream.

Talking of pollution it really annoys me that when people go to places like the Med or the caribbean or wherever they think the water is so much cleaner than in the UK because it is so clear!!!

The waters in Swansea bay look so murkey because we have such a huge tide range and loads of silt gets stirred up and yet locals all seem to think the med is far cleaner - it is only under a microscope you see the REAL truth!!!

Forgot to mention - really nice picces - brings back loads of memories - in fact may treat myself to a Nile cruise Christmas time!!! Too far to tow a RIB though!!!

Hmmm...more thoughts on doing the Nile by RIB.

I've even had a discussion with Andre about it.

Not the whole length but maybe from Aswan to Alexandria.

Hmmmm.............
