I don't know the Sweedish boy scouts get lots of nice boats to play with

Theres a couple of books out by ex SBS people with pictures of grapenel hooks etc.

From memory there are often little boats playing with the poole ferries.

Having worked offshore on survey boats, doing small boat work out at sea can be fun, getting hooked up to recover onto your own boat even more so. Life is so much easier when the boarding hatch is open

Manos,

Why don't you try this chasing the "High Speed" to Chios ?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with that boat, let me inform you that it's a VERY large ferry with cruising speed of 32 knots. When she sails from Pireus and until it reaches cape Sounion (that it approx 30 miles), she goes half throtle (around 20 - 22 knots). She speeds up to 40 + to cross the Aegean towards Turkish coasts and then slows down again to 20 - 22 until she reaches the destination.
You know why she does all these ? Because when she was first launched, some "mysterious" HUGE waves were hitting the Turkish coasts more than 1 hour after she passed, wasing ashore little boats flooding beach restaurants and cafes, generally causing tremendus catastrofes.

I wish that ferry goes down. Met it once mid seas and I will not forget the experience!! The waves she makes are HUUUUGE!! Some over 2-3 mtrs in hight!!
The suggestion to follow it has crossed my mind. Now don't put bad thoughts in my head

Manos,

I AM NOT PUTTING ANY BAD IDEAS IN YOUR HEAD.
JUST WONDERING IF YOUR NEW "TOY" WOULD HANDLE THOSE WAVES .
ASK THOSE OLD SEADOGS WHO MADE THE ROUND THE GLOBE CHALENGE WITH A SIMILAR SIZE, HOW COMFORTABLE THEY FELT SAILING HIGH SEAS
