Glad I didn't go out tonight

It's 9:03 pm Chicago time. Wanted to go out about 2 hours ago but decided to head for the roof instead. Good choice.

There are 3 levels to the roof. The lightning rods are on the third level. We stayed on the first. Although I was a little weary holding onto my triod. Being that its steel and all.

I'm just remined of the Terry Pratchett quote:

"He wasn't a trouble maker - he just had an unfortunate sense of timing ... Say for example, standing on a mountain top, in the middle of a thunderstorm, wearing wet copper armour shouting 'All gods are b@stards'"

Anyway - wicked pictures - got any more?

This is the only other lightning shot from last night. Only just caught it in the right hand corner.

I was on holiday travelling up from O'hare up to Michigan on I-94 and man was that some storm.Heavy rain made the trip dicey and glad I wasn't out in a Rib with a big A-frame on lake Michigan.Left Chicago on Monday night @102F I will never complain of heat again in this country!Must say the lake and powerboating and the weather make it a beautiful part of the world.
