From SIB to RIB...

After a year's saving, listening, watching, testing, changing my mind, jolly well giving up and then starting all over again, I've finally done it...

You've seen the RIB before, so it's not so much a new RIB as a new skipper, and new crew who hadn't ever been out on a RIB until Sunday. Mrs Richard B absolutely loved it, mainly thanks to the "Crazy Canadian" looking after her. And of course to Blue Ice's old skipper Alan for giving us an excellent demo of what the boat can do.

See you out on the Solent soon!

Sorry Richard I've changed me mind. You can have your money back and I'll be down to pick up the boat next week!

Seriously, its a hell of a thing to part with a great boat but its a less of a blow if she's going to someone who will appreciate her -and most importantly will take me out from time to time! Although I suspect the price of the Spa weekend for Mrs Richard B and Crazy Canadian might make it an expensive trip!

Enjoy,
Alan

Thanks for all the encouraging comments. You can be assured that more pictures of our journeys aboard Blue Ice will be posted here (I can hear JK groaning in dismay and rushing out to purchase some more hard disks!)

I'm looking forward to planning a cruise/some cruises, although a little time spent nearer familiar shores may be in order to get my experience level up.

Deauville... possibly a bit too soon
Orkneys... love to, but all that towing? Unfortuantely haven't time to do it by sea. Hmmm, I must speak to Keith.
Herm... Now you're talking!
Solent... I'll be there!

Big thank-you to all RIBnet members (and BIBOA members) who've given me assistance of all diferent sorts - Shall I embarras those who've specially helpful? No, you know who you are BTW the "low point" of the year was missing the Plymouth inaugral conference but I look forward to meeting more RIBnetters out on the water.

Bloody nice looking boat Richard, looks like you'll have a lot of fun with that one, though not quite as much as you'd have with the old SIB obviously...

Oh and also, finally had chance to test out that Aquapac you sent me a while back, worked a treat cheers. Think Spiderman needs to invest in one now.

Have fun on yer new boat!

Matt
