hi all

i notice a lot of correspondence about speed going on here - the race is advertised in all correspondence to participants as 1000km, however am not certain how they measure it - distance by road approx 750km. Average shift speeds attained according to GPS on the raceboat was between 75 and 95kph depending on the water conditions - peak for this race was 112kph, but the boat has peaked 125,8 (on GPS) at a previous race with absolutely flat water conditions. Boat was a Falcon 700RSR (modified for racing) with Yamaha 150hp V6, with custom-built dual hydraulic steering. I hope this clears up much of the confusion and my apologies for any misleading information.

And to convert things around

95 km / 1.853 km = 51 knots

75 km / 1.853 km = 40 knots

112 km / 1.853 km = 60.44 knots

125.8 km / 1.853 km = 67.89 knots!!

That is a very fast hull!!

Well done again and again!!

falcon rib

please bear in mind that this is a racing set-up - a standard 700rsr with standard 150hp motor would only get up to about 90kph / 48 knots
