Pieter, the (other) Manos and my self looking to modify a 200VMax I found here for F1 and Open class to put on the FALCON (not mine).

This is what we were advised from the Yamaha Moderator from www.boatsetup.com. The idea is to keep the weight of the 200 but to increase power to 300 bhp.

Quote
Modifications to the powerhead can give a great deal more HP from this unit (he means super charger unit)
You can start by changing the exhaust divider plate and tuner to those for the old V-6 Specail or Excell. The first was built in 1985 and 86. The second was from 1987-1989. This with the carbs from them would give 25-30 Hp and a lot better acceleration. Porting as well as intake and other modifications can get you to 300+ HP. Hope this helps.

Any chance any of those spares from SA??

Not sure if it's full on race ribs you want or leisure / race ribs. - We make race boats and the leisure version is due on the water in May!

Got a new website for 2004 as well - www.bananasharkracing.com

Picture looks interesting, I'll keep an eye on your site. As a matter of fact our team is interested in participating in this year's Cowes event, however we need to gather information and rules for your classes.

Have a look at www.rya.org.uk and www.biboa.com, although it appears as a National event on the calendar although they might be something that isn't listed for ribs elsewhere?

Would love to see you aver here and if yo need any help then feel free to contact me and I'll try and repay some of that wonderfull SA hospitality we recieved when we were in Cape Town for the World Champs!

thanks, have already made contact with John Puddifoot. Would love to come and join you there. One problem I am foreseeing at this stage is that the waterline length of our boat is too short for your F2 class - we are currently at 6.2m - any suggestions other than lengthening the boat?

Give JP one and he'll change the rules to allow himself to race it?

a bit confused by the above post, surely your biggest and most loyal customer solved that problem last season?

Have a look at this post:

http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?...highlight=beak

Or was this just a figment of his over active imagination?

Any way, I sure Pudifoot wouldn't let a little thing like rules get in his way if you offered him a free one! Maybe he could find another 150 promax for it, and set a new speed record!!!!!
