FLIR RIB image

During the remote control patrol boat tests the other week;we did a nightime run, to see if they could detect me coming in.
So approached at about 15 knots to see if the targeting system could lock on. Seemed to have no problems as the image shows.
Also fun having one of their photographers out on the water ,so got a photo of my boat for a change.
cheers dal

Look forward to see their latest version of FLIR will display at IACP (Police convention) in Boston coming October.

One old gas cooled version in use on one of our coast guard helicopter I sold to them ages ago.........

Has the boat been coated in any anti IR paint ?

I've a feeling that if you really wanted to you could quite easily lose a RIB with the correct camouflage and the use of some quite unsophisticated technology.

By the way did I mention when the British Rapier system managed to pick up the F117 on its first visit to Farnborough.

Contradictions I know but you shouldn't always listen to what the boffins say. They are only trying to sell there own product.

The other side quite often has a few tricks up there own sleeves.

Dont need a kill cord!!!
My RIB mysteriously stops on it's own when they pointed the machine gun at me
And no anti IR paint. Just wet Urethane!
