I agree there's some cracking day's to be had during the winter months. If I ever win the lottery me thinks one of them big redbay cabin ribs will be one of the first things on my list. The scenery looks stunning great vid

Went over yesterday - Yes beautiful place. Bit of fog around Rathlin - quite thick in the morning, sunshine rest of the day and flat calm sea. Can reccomend Islay Hotel - especially local brewed malt ales.
Also introduced to local gin "Botanist" - very fine stuff

Must admit - took the easy port first. Portnahaven looks a bit tricky on the chart - but its on the list.
Look forward to Easdale - fingers crossed with the weather.

Nice one R. I distinctly remember when I set foot on Islay after my first crossing - it was a moment to be savoured, just like the drachm

Port na Haven was looking well there. It must have taken a will of steel to video the approaching fog and not pan down to the ginormeous plotter that you have

Well done that man!

Yea point taken it is tricky with a few rocks, overfalls, eddies and races just to add to the excitement of the approaches.
