Dolphin Boat

As seen on the gadget show on Channel 5 this week:

It’s a submarine. No, it’s a boat. Actually it’s both.

Is this the ultimate toy for the person who has everything?

Or could it be the gArfish’s new rib flicking device ???

Did you see the Sunday Times at the wekend? There was an article about
Jacques Cousteau's grandson who has had a mechanical shark built for filming purposes. It was inspired by the Tin Tin story you mention.

No I didn't see it but am a great fan of tintin. Read them all as a kid but only when i reread them as an adult did I realise the hidden undertones and technical knowledge etc - they are educational without the reader realising the fact.

The other books I love like that are by Willard Price. About 2 brothers travelling the world collecting animals for zoos - very educational and great stories!!!

Willard Price books!! They were great!! Hal and his brother - whatever his name was...

They built a mechanical shark for a documentary that the BBC showed a couple of years ago - they sent it in to swim among sharks (for short periods)to study them - I think they took offence and it got trashed a couple of times - it was clever though.

Roger!!!

Amazing the things those books could teach you - like a Vampire bat actually laps up the blood like a cat - rather than sucking it up!!!

A good one about undersea life - they had a sub that was also a surface effect aircraft - remained pressurized so they could come straight up after living at 100' deep - travel to another island - then submerge again - all logically possible!!!

Too right - I actually started diving when I was about 8 - easy in the Red Sea though!!!

Was brought up on books like these and Jacques Cousteau - probably explains a hell of a lot.....

Always wanted to persue Marine Biology - gave up on the idea when we moved back to the UK - not quite the same as the Red Sea!!!
