Daring rescue - sort of

First time I have ever got the lifeboat out - hopefully the last.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the yacht making way with no crew onboard. Bet the owner will have a shock when he notices it is now on a buoy 200yds out!!!.

At least they didn't have far to travel - about 100 yds and only about 400yds from the coastguard station. I phoned the coastguard direct - suprised they called out the lifeboat when there were plenty of boats in the area - a shout on ch16 and anyone could have sorted it.

What was suprising was that I was the ONLY person to call - most people didn't seem to be aware of the proble. The yacht owner has to be the luckiest bloke around - if the mast hadn't got caught on the pier it would have been swept onto the rocks.

Did you cut his mooring line, just to get some pics?

And the daring rescue

The heros save the day......

Bet they wish they were all this simple!!!

That yacht owner was so lucky. Notice how much chain/rope there was - about 4' - must have come loose from a buoy.

It certainly looked like it.
