Hi Chris .. yup..I was glad when they left.
However it is thrilling when it happens. .. which is the point I was trying to get across.
Seeing exotic whales from the safety of a car ferry or an aquarium is without doubt very interesting but for me it doesn’t have that same excitement when you are among a pack of “flappers” in a very small boat and they could be a threat to you. It sure gets the adrenalin going.
I think of this common dolphin sighting as “Smiling Assassins”. I may be wrong ..but I did feel they were showing aggression. They suddenly came out of nowhere ..mobbed the boat .. testing it out by flapping the bottom a few times.. then disappeared as quickly as they arrived .. once I slowed down to stop. There could easily have been 50 or more around me ?
I felt the bottle nose dolphins in my first encounter were curious and showing off but no signs of aggression.
