I think that that first pic is a photoshop job. Seen that boat before in a different context.

in the first picture the ship in the wave is a supply ship and it is looks like it's near a platform. I can't believe any oil or gas company would allow any boat inside it's 500 in those conditions, unless there was a real problem like anchor slip

You're right about the location. It is Morro Bay. The boat owner was actually George C. Scott, not Brando. What a ride that must have been.

George C. Scott, Marlon Brando; pretty much the same thing.
