BIBOA Alderney Cruise 28,29 Sept 2001

We were fortunate to have a slight break in the weather and had a lovely relaxing time in Alderney. Jim and Yvonne with Still Deep One, Sir Charles Blois with' Ribelata (R12) and four other lads with a stunning new 8.5m Valiant. We were of course on our 'Gin Palace' as John calls it!!Also present of course was Cap'n Lemmer!!

Valiant

I am sure it was a Valiant as the owner had just taken delivery and this was his first trip in it. Point of fact, the port engine died on the way back shortly after the photo was taken,.I will ask Mark, the owner to take some more photos and I can post them here.

Send a message via ICQ to sasa
Niels,

Could it be that you mistaken the Valiant for Ribaleta (white hull, dark tubes, number R12)? I guess that the Valiant Stealth is talking about is the boat in the third picture - red(ish) wih twin outboards.

Sasa

Valiant

Correct Sasa, Ribelata is an Ocean Rib, the Orange RIB with the twin setup is the Valiant. Cheers.

I think, and I may well be wrong here, but Charles’s RIB is not an Ocean, rather an AMT , or something that sounds the same !!

I think it was actually built by Ocean but is an AMT design. If that makes any sense whatsoever!

The hull was laid up by Ocean using the mould from the old J&B Rare raceboat, which is the same design as that used by Maywatch for their cruiser www.maywatch.com

AMT then did the rest of the fit out.

It's very much a one-off!
