You can put the car in the correct gear and it makes it a much smoother journey.
Just don't talk to me about engine braking.

Or tyre ware 12 to 15 k on a set of tyres what's all that about

.....sh1t happens.......
The paddles are a pain. Too easy to catch by mistake and leave you stuck in the wrong gear. Leave 'em in sports cars I say.

I've just managed 20k on a set (admittedly they are just above the legal limit). I drive the car pretty hard and it's a mixture of motorway miles, back roads and towing anything from track cars, land rovers, ribs, caravans you name it.

It doesn't get any easy life and 20'000 isn't that much less than what I got out of my old A4.

The first generation Q7's were not great on tyres but the later gen. are much better.

A pal of mine had the first XC90 in Cornwall. He reckoned that it cost him the same in tyres and it did in depreciation over the time that he owned it. It ate them!

I wouldn't be happy with that.
I read all of the horror stories about the early Q7's and also the technical bulletin that Audi released regarding the changes to fix the problem.
It was pretty common for Audi to replace a set of tyres on the first ones for free, after 5000 miles.

A steering fluid pipe came off and it was soon fixed up the road from Chris's at zero cost not bad for an 11 year old Jap crap 4x4.

By the way... didn't you have a bigger problem when you bought your brand new defender and it had to go back to the dealers
