nckalderson carry on with what you are doing as long as you don't endanger others , it is your boat and you can do what you like and what you think is best .pushing the limits is how things progress and sometimes improve but obviously don't start whinging if it all goes wrong . please keep us up to date with progress and good luck.

You're about 20 kg over the recommended transom weight.

I'd recommend adding a transom bracket (Armstrong or Stainless Marine). The extra flotation of the box will offset the weight slightly.

Archimedes principle...1L of capacity = 1KG of buoyancy. So if you have a transom bracket built that you could fill with 30L of water, it would give you 30KG of positive buoyancy.

Plus, the added length may increase the speed of the vessel.

Note : I am not an engineer, but I have played around with the idea of putting a transom bracket on my Adventure 560.

Only if the whole bracket was below the waterline surely?

Surely! It's a good approximate though. 30L capacity is a pretty small transom bracket. The average transom brackets I usually see have probably 80L capacity.

I might be able to get you an original SR5.4 with a twin transom set up, all in grey and ex Royal Navy, with a Mk2 console too.

I don't know if that floats your boat? But I though I'd mention it as I know the guy wants to sell it
