A windy day in Southampton water

I took a trip down to Southampton today. Took some photos of Southampton water which is sheltered and quite a narrow channel. I think going out to sea would have been very rough today.

All the boats in the pictures were throwing up loads of spray. And I had quite a bit of trouble standing upright to take the photos.

Picture 1 is Point Hamble Marina.

Picture 2 is looking across to Fawley.

Picture 3. It was bad enough for this Yacht to resort to engine only.

Picture 4. Doesn't look too bad but this area is normally well sheltered.

Picture 5. This guy amazed me. I can,t believe he was going to cross that water.

Having said all this it would have probably been a cracking spot for the RIB.

Have a look at the BBC video - I was down at Aberavon and it was really bad - the video didn't show the end by the breakwater - that was incredible.
