We'd love to be able to stay there with its waterside facilities.... but can't seem to completely lose the kids so need a bigger place!

Yup..its a nice spot..but like anywhere in Scotland..its even better when the sun is shining.

I can spend hours happily drifting in the shallows at Taynish Island ..it is like looking into a fish tank.. and I have often seen otters going for those big sea urchins. These photos are from a couple of years back.

I appreciate everyone is different..but that is what my type of boating is about.. charts don’t show rocks in the shallows I love to explore..they just mark the whole area as green. That is why I generally consider them of little use to me. I have never hit a rock ..touch wood.. so hope it stays that way. I drive at a speed as dictated by conditions...so saying..I got a speeding fine coming back from Mull yesterday

Hope the photos put you all in holiday mood

They sure do gurnard I've only been back a week and planning my next trip
re the shallows the beauty of the sib it floats in buggier all when its like that I lift the engine get the paddle out put my leg over the side and just meander with a few strokes now and then it's surprising what's down there.

Cheers

We have the same ideas on our boating experiences Jeff.. let the speed merchants stay in the deep dark water.

I will take the scenic route any time. I donít want to give too much away yet..but here is a shot from my Mull trip last week. Force 5 winds..but they mean nothing in the shallows of a weather shore... perhaps you can understand why I have the biggest grin of all..in my wee flat assíd boat
