As far as I can see it's a straight forward domain registration and some web space, Unless they are providing something very special you are being robbed. You shouldn't be paying more than a tenth of that, and could get it for even less.

This is funded from my own pocket via my salary from the RNLI.
I thought lifeboat crews were volunteers?

Hurricane of 1987

Hello manos ,

yes we have several and as I work on the stations web site I will host them it was pretty spectacular with 100mph winds. I have quite a few pictures of various jobs in force 10 - 12 conditions and one of myself and two crew on the D class in a SW11 with a broken sponson port side which was fun.......I will try to put these up as soon as possible. The picture you see is the sheerness lifeboat in the shelter of our marina basin which was sheltered on the day.

Its on a dedicated server and we have a lot of space and its managed 24hrs a day for us I know its dear i have to pay for it.

They all are , crews recieve a very small amount of money approx 10 for a service call it covers fuel and time from work etc. Most stations put this in a crew fund and have a drink at the end of the year. Its not a lot really as the average crew member puts in up to 15 hrs a week

[B]Mechanics and Coxsains are retained and as far as I am aware apart from beach rescue we are the onlys ones on the payrole B]

The crew at Spurn Point used to all be paid RNLI staff, but I think that was because no one would go there for the fun of it.

well it's all boiled down a bit now but nobody gets on my boat without a lifejacket including me. I also wear one when I am being a WAFI. I do however accept that without the appropriate legislation people can choose not to wear them.

I must admit Dirk that I didn't wear one when I went to New York on the QE2 but I sure did now where they were kept.
