Over here it is totally volunteer work and we have to do fundraising ourselves for purchasing neccessary equipment.

Your avowed intention was to ‘show a picture or two to the site members’…but the link you posted caused a few questions…

Your site does appear to have strong endorsement from RNLI. Is it official practice to use the logo like this? The url also seems to imply it’s an official lifeboat site?

Each site is owned by each respective station the URL www.sheernesslifeboat.co.uk is owned by myself. We have to follow certain guidelines such as colours , corporate logo , Charity numbers but that aside content is left down to individual stations. It costs about £600 year for the name and web space for the site which is hosted through Netnation in canada
This is funded from my own pocket via my salary from the RNLI.We have to use RNLI logos and clearly list the webmaster details ( me )

I have to confess at a glance (and with my general lack of thoroughness) I would have thought from your site that that particular RIB make was the official boat for the RNLI for that area.

We have on station a D class and trent class lifeboat and perhaps in the not so distant future we might also get a Hovercraft too !!

The Parker Rib in question the 630D will be made available for crew to use in their own time and possibly on exercises time permitting. My endorsement of the brand is not that of the RNLI but of my own and you will see my reports on how the hull performs in various conditions. This I can assure you will be a warts and all viewpoint with no bias to the brand...................

You say you don’t stand to gain but a little later you say you’re about to become a dealer for that particular make of RIB?( RIBEX will be an important commercial arena for many in the business.) Am I missing something?

No I will attend Ribex as a guest of Parker Poland through an invite and as stated will not gain from my attendance.

There is now a commercial section which might help your business?

yes I hope to confer with Andre re this issue

Might also be worth having a chat with Andre who deals with the same RIB make on a very peaceful (and courteous) basis?

Andre is fully aware as it is he who is helping me with my talks with Parker poland

I do hope that this clears up the issues as i am a nice guy Honest >

Missus (aka Kathleen...a paddy BTW in case you get cross!!!!)
