I have heard many roomers about this Laser prop. The Falcon rep in Greece on the 700RSR Falcon put a 25" pitch x 14 1/4 it on a Evinrud Fiht 175, raised the engine by about 13 more cm (i.e. 1 notch up) and he says he's got 65knots out of it on an empty boat just 60-70 ltrs of fuel on it. He also put something between the engine mounting and the transom bringing the engine leg inside more rather than outside to avoid cavitation at the start.
No I do not know about the 65 knots but if he's done it well the boat is bloody fast and at that speed dangerous if you have people on it. He aslo said that at that speed is dangerous and you need quick thinking and reaction.

65knots is certainly very fast indeed! My father used to race offshore powerboats, back in the 70's, he would reach speeds of about 85-90mph, on a 21ft fletcher, which is insane! He also raced a 42ft cigeratte with 4x tuned 275's! with no power stearing! I dont no how he did it! However nower days it is very different, 130mph average over a race! its madness!

Absolutely.
Anything over 50 knots on a recreational RIB is superfluous. You never cruise at that speed and you have passengers onboard a small mistake or a slight bump and you get a BIG problem in your hands.

However it is nice to be able to do 50knots when out on your own now and then!
